LEED Gold Elementary School

Calmeca Academy of Fine Arts and Dual Language

Designed to house 900 students in grades Pre-K thru 8th grade, Calmeca Academy of Fine Arts and Dual Language is part of the City of Chicago’s construction program for new elementary schools. This 112,000-square-foot building will be rated LEED Gold per the guidelines of the US. Green Building Council (USGBC).

Sustainable features of the building include a high-efficiency enclosure, high acoustical performance for core learning spaces, 50 percent green roof, restoration of natural habitat, bike path, assigned spaces for low-emitting vehicles, recyclable durable materials.
